Meet the Band

The Dogs of Jazz
are an Adirondack and Plattsburgh based jazz band. Consisting of
vocalist
Joanna Dascoli, bassist Russ Mulvey, drummer Michael Lewandowski, and
pianist Jack Woulfe,
the band brings a variety of influences to its jazz repertoire,
including reggae and blues. The Dogs
have sometimes been joined for performances and recordings by stellar
musicians such as
trombonist Rick Davies and guitarist Skip Smithson. The band
performs frequently at Irises
in Plattsburgh, Charlie's in Lake Placid, while playing
engagements at The Whiteface Lodge,
The Pines, The High Peaks Resort, The Point, The Wild Center, and The
Hotel Saranac
in the Tri - Lake Adirondack Region. The Dogs play stand - out
tunes from Herbie Hancock,
Dave Brubeck, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis, as well as new
offerings from artists like
Joni Mitchell and Ben Harper. High energy pieces,
soulful blues, and beautiful ballads
punctuate the repertoire of this group with a world music influence
